The Red Car

1/8/2020

As a psychic medium, I often find myself in unique and sometimes problematic situations. You see, my friends ask my opinion when trying to make decisions, big and small. I bounce ideas off of them as well. That’s what friends do, right? Where I find myself walking a fine line is that I find my friends consider my opinions more than others and even their own due to their perception of my connection to spirit. They sometimes forget I’m just Dawn. I don’t always get it right.

This happens all the time and because of it there are a lot of times I try to bite my tongue. I wish I would have done that recently when my friend was debating whether or not to buy a car. She knew she had to do something as her vehicle was giving her trouble and needed a number of costly repairs. Due to the amount of money she was about to sink into the vehicle and its age, she thought purchasing a new car may be a better solution. Not wanting to set herself back financially and uncertain which path to take, she asked her family and friends what we thought. At first, I gave a noncommittal response. When asked again, I immediately received an image of a red vehicle, so I told her, “if it is red, definitely!” I wish I hadn’t said anything.

After saying that, she wanted to know why I thought red. Was I right? She didn’t really want a red car and now was more confused than ever. She asked me why red? To try and put her mind at ease, I pulled a card regarding the situation. While shuffling my deck of cards, out flew the Strength card. For those of you not familiar with the cards, in the Rider Waite deck the Strength card has a RED lion prominently featured. I passed that message along, reiterating that I thought a red car would be advantageous. I also told her that the Strength card indicated that purchasing a vehicle would be a wise decision putting her in a place of Strength.

Did my friend purchase a red car? You’d think with those signs she would, especially since she put her faith in the universe. But nope, no red car in her future. Instead, she ended up purchasing a white van.

This is where things get complicated and my words came back to haunt me. My comment about a red car haunted my friend. After making the purchase, she worried she made the wrong decision. It kept her up at night as she envisioned all the things that could go wrong, including her getting into an accident with a red car. All these worries simply because I told her I thought it should be a red car. Again, I wish I hadn’t said anything!!

I tried to assure my friend that I thought it would be fine and that nothing was going to happen. Unfortunately, while my words about the red car were perceived as coming from Spirit, my assurances she knew were coming from her friend Dawn and she continued to worry. Fortunately, something amazing happened. She started seeing red vans everywhere she went. And she began to take that as a sign that she made the right decision. PHEW!

Next time I have to be more careful with what I say.
