This weekend I received an amazing reading with the incomparable Reverend Amanda K Renzi. She’s a newish reader to the psychic fair circuit who has developed her own unique way of reading dubbed the Serengeti Stones®.
Yes… I get readings too! Why you may ask? Because, one of the unfair caveats of being a psychic medium is you can’t read for yourself. I can peek into the future for others but can’t peek into the future for myself – it goes against free will and the whole personal gain thing.
That being said, sometimes I have to check in with Spirit through someone else. Unfortunately for that someone else, I’m the WORST sitter.
I am skeptical. I have high expectations, it takes a lot to impress me AND I expect the “WOW” factor and detailed specifics. In addition to that, not only do I interrupt the reader (unable to keep my mouth shut), but I will often not claim the message and tell the reader that they are wrong all the while making disapproving faces. Basically, I’m a pain in the ass and I dread any sitter that is like me!
Why would I get readings if I’m going to be a doubting Thomas? What the unfortunate reader who has to deal with me often doesn’t know is… once I let the message stew for awhile – it usually makes much more sense and the reader is right (maybe not about everything, but there is usually a nugget I needed to hear).
At this point you may be thinking, "poor Reverend Amanda"! Fortunately for her, I was on my best behavior on Sunday! It also helped that her reading was not only spot on, but because it was so different I was enthralled.
What’s her reading like? Well, I was instructed to pick seven stones from a pouch. I chose turquoise, garnet, malachite, green zebra jasper, unakite, kunzite, and peacock ore. These stones were then (based on the order they were chosen) aligned with each of my seven chakras starting at the Root. She spoke of the strengths and properties of the stones and how these properties aligned with my own strengths. I was amazed at how accurate she was… it was as if she could hear what goes on in my head (a scary thought!). After that, she had me drop the stones on a board she had created with various animal archetypes around. Depending upon how the stones scattered depicted the harmonies and disharmonies or struggles in my life. FORTUNATELY, I was relatively balanced. What was interesting however, the kunzite aligned with my third eye fell deep within the peacock realm and the zebra jasper aligned with my solar plexus fell well within the zebra’s territory. According to Reverend Amanda, this depicts a struggle between showing my feathers, or true nature, and the desire to remain camouflaged and remain centered. This is a struggle I face every day as although I am a medium, I am just like you and I don’t want to shout it from the rooftops all the time (although according to Reverend Amanda… I will probably be doing a lot more of that!)
Dawn Lynn is an EveryDay medium. She lives and breathes via her intuition, which as a fourth generation intuitive from a family of Spiritualists came easily. Her abilities became apparent in early childhood and were cultured by a supportive family. Through her Blogs and Vlogs, she wants to help you become the EveryDay medium too.
