In the fall Don and I decided to give Spirit a three month window. If a baby was meant to be, it would be. The day after we made that decision, we received our first sign that Spirit was happy with our choice...
It was a Friday and as such I was doing readings at New World Gifts. I’d published a blog about New World Gifts a couple days before, and found myself busy with readings. As the end of the day approached, I brought in my final client into the reading room.
She was a strong, vibrant woman with tremendous energy and as she stepped in I thanked her for waiting to which she responded, “It’s no problem! I saw your blog and decided to get a reading today. It almost didn’t happen though because I got tied up with work and had forgotten. That is until I dropped off my dry cleaning off (next door) and saw the sign outside that you were in… obviously I was meant to be here.” I agreed.
The reading was a typical reading with a lot of information coming through. At the end of the reading, the woman thanked me and indicated that there was a lot to think about. I was then prompted to ask, “By the way, what do you do?”
She responded, “I’m a midwife.”
My jaw dropped and I let out a belly laugh. Less than twenty-four hours earlier, I’d been looking midwifes up online and had a couple people I intended to contact. Didn’t have to worry about that, Khristeena walked through my door and I KNEW it was meant to be.
A few weeks later, we met with Khristeena Kingsley as a pre-pregnancy “interview.” And now, as I wrap up my first trimester she is our midwife providing prenatal care and planning for the birth and it is a perfect fit as she understands and respects our beliefs and is working to help us welcome this child into the world in the way we desire.
Spirit never ceases to amaze me.
The promoter of the Evolving Essence, New York’s Favorite Psychic Fairs has expanded into Florida. This is as a great opportunity to not only expand my business, but also visit my Pops who lives just north of Orlando.
The debut of this fair circuit was in Apopka, FL this past weekend. It was set up very similar to other fairs I’ve participated in that there was a door fee with readers throughout the room each charging their individual fees. Unique to this fair was customers were given a raffle ticket to enter a drawing for a door prize, a beautiful silver wrapped agate pendant.
Being a new fair in an area that doesn’t have many of these, this weekend was a slower than usual. That being said, I had an experience that knocked my socks off and reminded me that Spirit works in mysterious ways.
Sunday morning, when the doors opened we were greeted by a slightly hesitant, but definitely curious and excited woman. She walked in and made her way around the room speaking with each one of the readers. This is typical as we recommend that before you choose a reader, walk around the room to get a feel for all the readers. Once you’ve done that, sit down with whomever you feel comfortable. This woman did that, but when she got to the end of the room she walked right out the door.
I was a little surprised, as it was apparent she was searching. But shrugged it off thinking no one struck her fancy or the prices (readings were starting at $40) were a little higher than she wanted to pay.
That was not the case.
About twenty minutes later she walked back to the door, albeit a little frazzled. She misplaced her ticket and was concerned she would have to pay the entry fee again. There hadn’t been many people through the door, so the promoters immediately recognized her and once they understood her confusion ushered her in.
Once through the doors, she headed straight over to me and my table. When she was about ten feet away, she stopped short and let out a laugh that filled the room – there on the floor, in front of MY table was HER ticket!
She bent down and grabbed it with a huge smile on her face, and as she waved the ticket in my face she told me – “While I was sitting in the car I knew I had to come back and see you. This just confirmed it!! I’m obviously meant to see you!”
Again, Spirit never ceases to amaze me. This woman was curious, yet hesitant and wanted a sign she was supposed to do this. She revealed that in the car, she prayed that she receive a sign and guidance that this was the right thing. Spirit provided. And while the messages I shared with her were valuable, they paled in comparison to the sign Spirit provided with the ticket. That ticket proved to her we ALL receive messages, we just have to ask and listen.
Last week we said good bye to Daphne, my pug extraordinaire. While it was sad, it was not unexpected. In October she had turned to me and said, Mommy, a baby is coming, but I won’t be here. My time for leaving will come soon.
The message devastated me. Daphne is, and will always be, my baby girl. When she passed the message she appeared to be perfectly healthy. Not only that, she was relatively young – only nine! Pugs live to be fifteen to eighteen. So although the message struck a chord, because I didn’t want to believe it… I ignored it.
The message, however, would not be dismissed. About a week after she said this to me, my Pathways to Spirit Mediumship Development class met. During the message passage portion of the session, one of my students, Laine, a soft spoken and kind woman with an incredible gift, shared with me that she had a little girl with her who called me Mommy. She continued on to say, “The little girl is telling me you and Daphne share a special bond. The two of you communicate and she says Daphne passed you an important message recently. This little girl is urging you to listen.” I had all I could do in that moment not to break into tears.
As the months passed by, Daphne began to exhibit various symptoms – she became cranky and would snap at Seamus, she stopped jumping up on chairs, and she struggled to get around and was more lethargic. Nothing too serious, she wasn’t a puppy anymore and baby aspirin seemed to help. It was at New Year’s we noticed a significant change.
Fortunately, we had the kids annual veterinary appointment scheduled for January. When we went in, Dr. Fischer from 5 Corners Animal Hospital examined Daphne. The symptoms didn’t seem to add up and for the most part Daphne seemed really healthy so she recommended we have more tests done and wasn’t too concerned. The tests were inconclusive, but at that point Dr. Fischer became a little more alarmed as Daphne was declining at a noticeable pace. Uncertain what was wrong, we began to treat the symptoms.
At first, the treatment showed promise… but the symptoms came back at an accelerated rate. We and the vet continued to monitor Daphne knowing it was only a matter of time. Then Daphne told Don and me It’s time. We weren’t ready but as we saw her get worse we knew we had to say good bye to our little girl.
It was the hardest thing I think Don and I have had to do as a couple. And ironically, it was about the time we conceived that we saw Daphne decline. She knew… and she’s visited to let us know she is ok. Over the weekend I woke up to find her in bed, to the point that in my grogginess I found myself petting her (as you can imagine when I came too I felt silly)! She’s come to my classes. And she continues to nuzzle with her papa helping him heal. One things is for sure, while she may be gone from the physical plane… she will never be forgotten and she will always be around!
