It is hard to believe that 2020 is here! While perhaps not as profound as New Year’s Eve 1999 when many worried about a Y2K Armageddon or as curious as December 2012 when the Mayan calendar came to end, but it has been a year many have hoped to see change in. When I worked in healthcare reform, Healthy 2020 was a powerful initiative. Those goals may or may not have been achieved, but 2020 offers the opportunity for change. Politically, we will likely see an emotionally charged election. Personally, you have the opportunity for magic.
Why do I feel 2020 will be magical? Let me tell you why!
BEGINNING OF A NEW DECADE
I’ve seen posts all over Facebook and Instagram excited to bring in the new decade and experience another Roarin’ 20s. There are some, like my husband, however who view 2020 not as the beginning of a new decade but the end of the last. In my opinion, both are right which makes this a powerful year for change. It gives you the opportunity to release any emotional or spiritual connections that no longer serve you as you embrace the new potential.
Now let’s take a look at the Numerology of 2020 which can be interpreted in a variety of ways. Students of numerology would know that to get the numerology you start by adding 2+0+2+0 and then reduce this to a single number. 2020 is easy as 2+0+2+0 is 4 and requires no further break down. Fours in numerology indicate that a foundation or dream has been established and with it comes abundance and stability. Four is a stubborn number and can be had to budge, so you may find yourself wanting to sit still and enjoy the fruits of your labors. Which after a couple of turbulent years makes sense! But, upon further interpretation I’d encourage you to not get too comfortable. Why? In addition to looking at 2020 as a 4, as mentioned earlier it represents the beginning and end of a decade and as a result, I also view 2020 as a 10. Tens represent the end of one journey and the ability, should one choose, to begin a new journey. The key to tens is the ABILITY and CHOICE to move forward. There does need to be movement on your part, fortunately tens also bring with the wisdom gained through your past experiences as well as a sprinkle of fairy dust and luck.
I’m also going to interpret 2020 in terms of the Tarot by connecting this year to the Judgment card. Judgement is the number 20 in the major arcana and represents awakening. In the Rider-Waite Tarot, the imagery of Judgement features the Archangel Gabriel, the angel of messages, calling his flock to share messages and welcome them into the realm of heaven. Heaven can be here on Earth and this indicates that you may receive more intuitive messages or feel your spirituality grow.
I’m going to touch on this just briefly as I know just enough astrology to be dangerous but not enough to be good, so the following is my summary of what I have read from the experts. From the astrological forecasts I have read, they echo what numerology and the Tarot would predict in that it will be a transformative year. Want to learn more? I am excited for the coming year. Perhaps because I am a little Pollyanna and always want to hope for the best. But, there is an excitement this year that I haven’t felt in years. For many, I’ve heard it from my clients, the past few years have been exhausting and they are committed to making 2020 better. Let’s build on that collective energy and keep that going! We may need the collective to combat some of the frustration and negativity that is bound to arise during the election this year. Love, hope and commitment to ourselves can overcome that.
It is worth noting, that all of the things I’ve just stated bring an energy that make manifesting your desires easier. The most important and powerful influence, however, is your own intention and commitment. Your desire and consequent actions will always bring change. So, if you don’t start today or tomorrow, but wait a week or a month even a year or more… when you commit, your potential will flourish. My hope is that you find the commitment sooner than later as so much is possible.
Happy New Year!!
