It was before the Happiness for Your Health Expo. I had arrived early to set up and was glad I did as it scored me an end spot! Once I was set up, more vendors (and all their merchandise) began to stream in which caused me to feel a little claustrophobic. Feeling crowded...
As soon as I walked out, I met my husband who had been on a coffee run and gruffly I told him let’s go to the car. After a few deep breaths, still feeling cramped I told him – “Hunnie, I don’t want to work this show.”
Without hesitation and with great conviction he replied, “Dawn you know better than that. YOU aren’t ‘working’ the show. You aren’t here to make money. You are here to spread light and the message of your book AND to be touched by the light others bring today. That’s what’s important.”
His message was sobering. After letting it sink in for a couple seconds, I thanked him.
With an optimism I lacked earlier in the day, I let my husband know I was ready to go in. Before we did, we had to put the car windows up. When he turned the car on, the following was playing:
“The moment, you own it, you better never let it go. You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow, This opportunity comes once in a lifetime yo.”
Hearing the message, I told my husband we needed to stay in the car until the song finished. We rocked out a little and were pumped up for the day. And despite the show being less attended than we had anticipated, I had AMAZING interactions with both vendors and patrons which spread the message of my book which will further my goal of normalizing mediumship.
So the moral of this story and takeaway for you, listen and pay attention to everything that crosses your path, especially in the times you are frustrated or looking for insight. The universe IS there for you and WILL speak to you. How? It might be through your loved ones as was the case with my husband’s sage words, through strangers such as someone in the coffee line or at a stoplight, through songs like Eminem's (who would have thunk it!), and through signs like animals and pennies.
Unfortunately, if you aren’t watching these signs, they can be easy to miss. For example, I could have dismissed my husband’s words. Especially because they weren’t what I really wanted to hear from him right then. Or I could have been in a hurry and not paid attention to the song that was on the radio. But I didn’t. Both made me stop and pause. If something makes you do that, pay closer attention as there is probably a message it in for you.
